Blue indicating silica gel gets its colour from cobalt chloride, listed as a substance of very high concern under EU REACH. Blue gel is still supplied on request and clearly labelled, but it is never described as cobalt-free and should not be sent into an EU or UK order without the buyer knowing.
There is no REACH registration number. That is a real constraint, and European buyers do ask. Under REACH the registration obligation generally sits with the EU importer rather than the non-EU supplier, so the question is usually answered by your buyer's own compliance route, but it must be raised early rather than at the letter of credit stage.
